What is the Data Security Fee?
All merchants who accept payments by card are required to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard , or PCI DSS. Barclaycard provide a service called the Data Security Manager which allows merchants to self-assess and attest to compliance with the PCI DSS every 12 months. The fee for using Barclaycard’s Data Security Manager is £4.80 per month. The Data Security Manager is an alternative service to the Proactive Security Service (see below). If a merchant uses the service of another PCI DSS assessor and is able to upload a current certificate of compliance, then the £4.80 Data Security Fee does not apply.
What is the Proactive Security Service fee?
All merchants who accept payments by card are required to comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard , or PCI DSS. Barclaycard’s Proactive Security Service provides a dedicated point of contact to guide merchants through the steps required to achieve compliance with PCI DSS every year. The fee for using Barclaycard’s Proactive Security Service is £15.00 per site (or outlet) per month. The Proactive Security Service is an alternative service to the Data Security Service (see above).
